Environment

Each year, millions of cigarette butts litter our public spaces—covering our sidewalks, parks, and beaches.

Vape cartridges introduce plastic, nicotine salts, heavy metals, lead, mercury, and flammable lithium-ion batteries into waterways, soil, and to wildlife.

This toxic waste hurts our planet. And us.

If a ban on menthol had passed in 2011, it could've saved an estimated 320,000 lives.

Social Justice

Big Tobacco has a long history of lying to, profiling, and targeting the Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ communities.

Menthol cigarettes. Exploitative marketing. Cultural appropriation.

That was their playbook for cigarettes. Now they’re using similar tactics for vaping.

The Industry

Vape companies have enormous advertising budgets. Some have tried to convince you that vaping nicotine relieves stress.

Tobacco companies once said nicotine isn’t addictive and secondhand smoke wasn’t harmful.

Now, some vape companies have advertised vapes as stress relievers. They're trying to rebrand themselves as part of the “public health solution.”

Don’t believe them.
